FSY provides students with an introduction to the rigors and expectations of academic study at Yale. First-Year Scholars will take a one-credit writing seminar, English S114, and will also be placed in a half-credit Math or Statistics course. Beyond formal coursework, First-Year Scholars will also participate in activities with faculty and current students that emphasize mentorship, academic advising, academic coaching for course assignments, and the discovery of all the vital academic resources for success at Yale.
