What Students Can Expect
The FSY experience consists of coursework, workshops, social events and activities, field trips, late night buttery hang outs, and more! During FSY, students are encouraged to work hard and also explore campus and New Haven, meet new people, and take advantage of all that Yale has to offer. Students are provided with guidance and lots of support resources - including time management tips and strategies - to help them along the way.
Every student will be assigned to a FSY counselor, a current Yale student or recent graduate, who will live in the residential college and be a source of guidance and support to them along the way. Every counselor will meet with their counselees one-on-one and in small groups to help students navigate the FSY and Yale experience. In addition, counselors plan and lead the various social events and activities to ensure that students are taking breaks to have fun, meet new people, and feel part of the FSY cohort community.
FSY participants will experience on-campus living within Yale's residential college system. In 2025, students lived and ate in Ezra Stiles College. They also have access to other campus facilities that may be open during the summer.
